Maths Courses

.

Our maths courses are currently run by Jane Liddle, who has many years’ experience as a maths consultant and currently works at Oxford Brookes University as a Senior Lecturer in Education.

We aim to offer refresher CPD courses that complement those on offer from local Maths Hubs, and this year we will again be running a half day course looking at how to build mathematical understanding using Cuisenaire Rods.

Promoting Mathematical Learning for TAs

In addition to refresher courses, every year we run our Promoting Mathematical Learning for Teaching Assistants, a nine-hour course run across three mornings, which has been developed to empower teaching assistants to feel confident in supporting pupils across the primary age-range.

The PML course was developed in 2012 and has since been updated to fully align with the mathematics National Curriculum (2014).  It has now been delivered to thousands of TAs across England.
